Phil is a full time building inspector running his own business with extensive experience in particular conducting pre purchase building and pest inspections. Phils WA Registered Building Practitioner No. is 100883. He is also called upon by Megasealed to resolve complaints from their clients by way of inspecting and compiling a report.
Phil has high expectations of carpentry and builders standards having completed his carpentry trade and studied for his Builders Licence in NSW which is a very regulated state compared to others. Its very concerning to Phil to see the amount of major structural defects in WA homes along with what others deem as acceptable workmanship. Phil is very passionate about improving the level of acceptance and standards of building practices within Western Australia.
During his trade years Phil was working with building demountable timber and steel framed homes, within the cabinet maker field and building major extensions to residential homes.
After obtaining his NSW Builders License qualification Phil was a Project Manager for Kayle Konstructions, a local commercial building company for 7 yrs. In this time he was drawing plans along with managing the projects from start to finish. This included running the engineering workshop. Major projects included airport hangers and large industrial sheds in regional NSW.
For the following 3 years Phil was on the tools and supervising various residential projects including granny flats, large timber decks along with other major masonry structural renovations within his own business.
Phil was then employed as a Projects Co-Ordinator at the Port Kembla Steelworks for Bluescope Steel for the next 5 yrs. Within this time Phil was busy running building maintenance schedules, projects, risk assessment and compliance management. This role transferred him to Perth which is now him and his family’s home where he continues to renovate and build privately.
After adding inspections of Timber Pests (termites) to his studies, Phil has been inspecting homes within Perths southern suburbs since 2013. In this time he has completed over 4000 inspections personally. Phil completes both the building and termite inspections himself and then complies the report himself. He is more than capable of providing you with an honest professional evaluation of the home or building.
